How it started.

This revitalization effort began with a shared vision among community members and alumni who saw the potential in the old Virgie High School campus. United by a desire to preserve its history and create a vibrant space for the future, we’ve come together to transform the campus into a community center that serves all generations.

Our vision for the campus includes utilizing five key spaces to foster community engagement and growth. The parking lot will host a variety of events, from local festivals to outdoor markets. Inside the building, the classrooms and common areas will serve as multifunctional spaces for meetings, workshops, and community functions. The pool will be reopened and covered, providing a year-round resource for fitness and recreation. The band room will become an event center for weddings, receptions, reunions, family gatherings and a new outdoor seating area. Our gym will be a true basketball arena, but will also host a multitude of entertainment offerings.

Through this collective effort, we aim to create a space where the community can connect, grow, and celebrate the spirit of Pike County for years to come.
